Medical Claims-EDI Programmer Analyst

Support the Programming  functions support for  Claims ,Billing and Accounts Receivable Managed Care Applications using GE Centricity and Database Management System.

Maintains system dictionaries and programs screens, reports, form letters .   Develops testing plans and testing scenarios for new features/fixes added to the system, hardware changes or issues Manages medium to large scale projects and provides support during project implementation.

Serves as a subject matter expert on MCA and BAR Interfaces and extracts for Centricity Business applications and participates in Centricity hardware upgrades.

Serves as a subject matter expert using  DBMS, MCA, EDI and InterSystems Cache.

Serves as a subject matter expert in Healthcare analytics NCQU (HEDIS), PCMH and healthcare Practice Management Systems.

Develops function requirements for application fixes and enhancements; determines resources required, estimates level of effort and status tracking. 

Designs ,analyzes, develops, tests, troubleshoots, optimizes, enhances and maintains ANSI X12 EDI transactions and 837, 835, 834 and 278 transaction sets. 

Designs M programming language - MUMPS ISO/IEC 11756:1999-ISO/IEC 15851:1999

Work with programming staff to ensure adherence programming standards when performing analysis, writing documentation and testing components of custom modules with the Centricity Business application. 

Responsible for testing and debugging application in conjunction with business analyst and users and develops programs for automatic correction of erroneous data.

Modifies and maintains existing applications, including testing and installation of system upgrades. 

Test, troubleshoot and perform related system refinements and improvements. 

Monitor and manage new programming installations and upgrades to existing applications. 

Provides informational input into decisions concerning the development and delivery of applications, programs and systems.

Analyzes requirements to meet the expectations of stakeholders and scheduled timeline, and budgetary targets.

Writes code in support of business solutions.

Responsible for communication, and management of project plans which includes architectural design, technology selection and methodologies to apply.

Prepares documentation, user manuals and develops formal proposals for new systems and modifications to existing systems.


Bachelor degree

5 years Healthcare Programming language in GE Centricity and M- Programming, ANSI Claims and Cache’

Excellent project management, organizational and analytical skills.

 Advanced proficiency in GE Centricity, EDI, InterSystems Cache.

Healthcare Claims Analyst and design with familiarity with claims payment systems, and Healthcare Quality reporting.

Ability to meet deadlines and to manage multiple projects with both internal and external constituents
