The Central Billing Manager has a hands on responsibility to work with a billing team supporting outpatient medical billing services. This position has the opportunity to progress into a Director-Level role within 24-36 months.

You will be accountable for the daily operation responsibilities all billing related activities for Patient Accounting Staff and oversight of monthly management reporting for Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payments and Ambulatory Surgical Center Payment Systems and Quality Reporting .


Responsible for meeting deadlines, accuracy in claims submissions, coding corrections, Overall performance of billing staff, training, education, time and attendance, hiring, evaluations,etc..maintenance of all personnel records. Sets daily, weekly, monthly and annual benchmarks and goals for staff

Insure compliance with the Department of Health & Human Services OIG’s Billing regulations

Monitor, evaluate and update fee schedule

Develop, refine and monitor credit & collections policies

Interpret, implement and monitor periodic billing changes as mandated by various governmental and payer programs

Manage and be intimately involved with accounts receivable through the daily evaluation of data

Perform EDI Remittance and Electronic Fund Transfer forms, and utilizes Business Intelligence dashboards and analytical data for troubleshooting and performance measures.

Insure that administrators of each center are well educated on payer rules, coding/documentation requirements and all factors that impact on receivable

Closely monitor adjustments and bad debt

Manage and closely monitor the A/R Practice Management system.

Provide for representation and involvement as is deemed appropriate and necessary in state and local associations, planning agencies, consumer groups, ASC management organizations, health insurance companies and related health agencies or groups

Review all contracts and practice commitments related to billing

Establish rapport with each administrator and/or practice insure free flow of information

Insure that technology services comply with regulatory requirements as it relates to security


Experience /Qualifications:

Minimum 6 years -medical billing

5 years -Previous Billing Department Manager or Supervisor role.

Strong systems knowledge with implementation history a plus.

Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Knowledge of computer programs and applications and technology: Centricity, Vision, Emdeon Claim Master.Ability to create comprehensive reports.

Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with physicians, employees, administration, third party payers,and  patients 

Posses organizational skills, ability to delegate and achieve goals and objectives.

Exercises good judgment and discretion in developing, applying, interpreting and coordinating departmental policies and procedures.

Ability to assume responsibility and exercise authority over assigned work functions.

Ability to establish and maintain quality control standards.

Ability to organize and integrate organizational priorities and deadlines.

Ability to prepare comprehensive reports.

Skill and ability in analyzing and projecting finances of practice.
